Berlin has several train stations and airports (Tegel, Schönefeld). Both airports are well-connected to the public transport. As for the trains: If you are coming with the fast train (ICE), you should get off at Hauptbahnhof.The workshop venue is the Rostlaube (Habelschwerdter Alle 45). It is located at the crossroad of Habelschwerdter Allee and Thielalle. You can get there using the busses X11 or M11 to Hittorfstraße or the undergrund to Thielplatz. The Fahrplanauskunft will tell you the best connection.
If you own a smart phone whatch out for the DB Navigator by German Rail. It comes with augmented reality and with it you cannot go wrong in Berlin.
