Call for Participation
We invite talks (30 minutes including discussion) on any aspect related to Generative Grammar, that is, either an analysis in an appropriate framework or a discussion of empirical facts that relates to respective analyses. We understand the term Generative Grammar in the following sense:
A grammar of a language purports to be a description of the ideal speaker-hearer's intrinsic competence. If the grammar is, furthermore, perfectly explicit—in other words, if it does not rely on the intelligence of the understanding reader but rather provides an explicit analysis of his contribution—we may call it (somewhat redundantly) a generative grammar. (Chomsky, Aspects, page 4)
This understanding includes work in constraint-based theories like Construction Grammar, Head-Driven Phrase Structure Grammar, and Lexical Functional Grammar and other theories that are worked out in detail as for instance Categorial Grammar and Tree Adjoining Grammar.
Traditionally GGS explicitly encourages the presentation of work in progress. According to this philosophy the selection of papers is not based on a review process of abstracts but on a first-come-first-served basis. The conference languages will be German and English.
The workshop is organized by the Center for the Study of European Languages.

Berlin has several train stations and airports (Tegel, Schönefled). Both airports are well-connected to the public transport. As for the trains: If you are coming with the fast train (ICE), you should get off at Hauptbahnhof.The workshop venue is the Rostlaube (Habelschwerdter Alle 45). It is located at the crossroad of Habelschwerdter Allee and Thielalle. You can get there using the busses X11 or M11 to Hittorfstraße or the undergrund to Thielplatz.
